4 Keynsham
BSUFC Goal Scorers:Ollie Down, James Skelton, Nathan Redmore, OG

Bradley Stoke Utd under 11’s took on Keynsham in only their second league game of the season after 2 comfortable cup victories.

Keynsham was always going to be a tougher test but we got off to a fantastic start when fine build up play found Ollie whose shot was deflected into the net off a defender but it would be harsh on Ollie to mark it down as an OG.  It got even better a couple of minutes later when Sam’s cross was turned into his own net by a defender.  After 10 minutes we were 3:0 when a magnificent cross from Sam played James in and he placed it past the advancing keeper.  The game settled down and was for the next 10 minutes an even contest albeit with few chances. Just before half time however we failed to clear a corner and Keynsham pulled one back to leave it 3:1 at the break.

Despite them being warned that they would the players seemed surprised that Keynsham came out all guns blazing in the second half.  We were second to everything and were chasing shadows.  It came as no surprise then when they pulled another goal back and it got even worse when they pulled level half way through the second half.  This finally woke the boys up we started to gain possession and play again.  We all of a sudden were the team on top and the pressure built and built on the Keynsham goal.  It paid off when Joe got behind the defence and shot from an acute angle.  The keeper made a fine save but he could only palm it up to allow Nathan Redmore to head home.  Relief all round then!!! Not quite there was still time for us to concede a free kick mid way in our half.  The kick soared into the crowded area out of the reach of Dan into the net.

4:4 then and celebrations amongst the Keynsham players.  It’s not a disaster for us but definitely lessons to learn.

GFA cup next week against Whiteshill Under 12’s!!!
